Win and go home (celebrating....)

Sad to say, Thursday will be last day of the UAAP Men's Basketball. There will be tears. There will be a celebration. There will be a champion. It all boils down to one game.

The Ateneo Blue Eagles and the UE Red Warriors have certainly provided us with an entertaining series. Booming triples, dare devil drives, some elbows here and there (Monfort I am looking at you..), monster blocks, great coaching and of course, the players playing with all their hearts.

There is only one key to winning on Thursday. Throw all those stats away. That key is who wants it more. The team that wants it more will prevail on Thursday afternoon. The UE Red Warriors are out to prove that they are heartbreak kids no more while the Blue Eagles are trying to win back to back titles since the current finals format was introduced. The players will play all-out (Don't expect Eric Salamat to have a bad game..he will come out firing). There's no question about that. It will be up to the coaches, the school, the community of both sides to motivate their players. They will play a big role in giving that extra boost their team needs in order to win. Who spent those extra hours in the gym working on their game? Who spent another hour studying the game of the other team? Who will be more composed under all the pressure? Who will get that extra possession for their team? Who wants it more?

In the end, will the Red Army finally be having a celebration that they truly deserved even way back during the James Yap era and during the 14-0 season?

or will the Blue Babble Batallion once again win back to back titles and prove they are really the number one team this year as predicted by everyone even before the season started?

I am excited!!!

Can we fast-forward to thursday already??? PLEASE...

  1. This finals match up just became one for the ages. No more momentum, no more stats. Its just a game of who just wants it more haha.

Im second guessing with Eric. As Trix says. (EHEM GAME FIXING TAKE HIM OUT OF THE LINEUP FOR TEAM CHEMISTRY) hahahah

My prediction... Its going to boil down to a last shot situation. If Ateneo has the ball, and Eric takes the shot. BYE BYE BIRDIE. If its Paul Lee?? Well Im biased haha. You all know what Im going to say :)

  2. I don't think it will boil down to a last shot. But if it does then why not.. i think UE will win by 4. I have a feeling ADMU will come out strong and lead by double digits in the 1st Q but UE will fight back and ultimately win the game. that's just my biased position. hahahaha.. i will have no problems if there will be 100 lead changes in the game. coz that will be exciting as well..
